Evaluation of cryptographic attacks in the SSH ecosystem

SSH (Secure Shell) has become the primary cryptographic standard used to access remote servers and login at remote work stations. Originally designed as a secure login replacement of the Telnet protocol in UNIX environments, SSH has meanwhile developed to a stable part of every operating system, including Windows and macOS. According to the recent study, there exist about 16 millions of servers supporting these protocols.

The goal of this thesis is to analyze the SSH ecosystem in respect to well-known cryptographic attacks. The work can concentrate, for example, on Manger's attack on RSA-OAEP or on invalid curve attacks. The goal of this work will be to give a summary about the servers supporting relevant ciphers and investigate how many implementations are vulnerable to the above mentioned attacks.
