We are search­ing for a stu­dent as­sist­ant (SHK/WHB) (m/w/d) work­ing on In­ter­net cen­sor­ship

The Systems Security Research Group is looking for a

student assistant (f/m/d) or student assistant with a bachelor's degree (f/m/d)

to support ongoing research and tool-development for a censorship project.

Your responsibilities

  • Development of existing censorship research tools
  • Deployment and application of research tools to acquire research results
  • Analysis and interpretation of research results

Your profile

  • Advanced bachelor's/beginning master's degree in computer science
  • Good to very good programming skills (Kotlin, Kava, Python, C)
  • Prior knowledge of Internet protocols (e.g., TLS from IT security and/or RWCE lectures)
  • Desirable (but not essential):
    • Interest or experience in Internet censorship
    • Experience with software projects (e.g., internships, student assistant jobs, own projects, open source)
  • Independent, careful working style and reliability

Details

  • Scope of employment: up to 15 hours per week (per agreement)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Start date: As soon as possible
