- Title of visualization course: Visualization
- Aimed at what category of students: Students of Computer Science
- Objectives of the course:
- This course provides basic knowledge on visualizing, exploring and analyzing large amounts of data. Focus is onmehtods for 3D visualization.
- The first part (introduction) provides a series of examples to give an overview of computer-generated visualization and its applications.
- The second part ( algorithms and data structures) details methods of data representation a well as basic visualization techniques. This section includes
- mapping of data to color (color spaces, color scales),
- mapping of data to isolines and isosurfaces
- interpolation techniques
- The third part (algorithms of 3D visualization) details volume visualization and flow visualization techniques.
- List topics of course :
- Examples of visualization
- Principles of visualization and perception
- data structures
- visualization techniques
- visualization algorithms
- uncertainty in visualization
- visualization of muli paramater data
- visualization of volume data
- flow visualization
