Regulations for the module examinations as of SS 2012

Please take note that the formalities for registering for the module examinations have changed. The intended to be permanent regulations published on May 5, 2011, concerning the completion of module examinations in the Master’s program is now being replaced as of the first examination phase of summer semester 2012.
As of summer semester 2012, the module grade of modules III.1.* to III.4.* of the Master’s program will be determined by just one single oral module examination. In this grade calculation, ungraded credit points in one or in both tested catalog courses can be required as a prerequisite. There are two possible variants for the contents of the module examinations:
Variation A:
The module examination is based on both catalog courses.

Variation B:

The main points of the module examination are taken from one of the two catalog courses; in this case, proof of ungraded credit points in the other catalog course is demanded as a prerequisite for the examination.
Currently, with just two exceptions, all module examinations are held according to variation A, unless a lecture is combined with a seminar – in this case, variation B applies. The achieved seminar grade is included in the overall grade evaluation.
The two exceptions are modules III.1.1 (Model-Based Software Development) and III.1.6 (Constructive Methods of Software Engineering), which are examined according to variation B, without exception.
Please take note that ungraded credit points are a prerequisite for participating in the examination, and that you must provide proof of this performance when registering for a module examination. Otherwise the examiner is not allowed to accept your registration request. Because PAUL cannot register the ungraded credit points until as of winter semester 2012/13, a certificate will be issued during this current semester which confirms successful participation in a university course that counts for credit points.
