The System Security Research Group is looking for a
student assistant or student assistant with a bachelor's degree (f/m/d)
to support ongoing research and tool development for a research project on the security of XML parsers.
The goal of the project is to finalize an ongoing research project; if everything goes according to plan, the project will be finalized by collaboratively writing a paper based on the results.
Your responsibilities
- Extension of existing analysis tools
- Deployment and application of research tools to acquire research results
- Analysis and interpretation of research results
- Possibly writing the paper in close collaboration with me
Your profile
- Advanced bachelor's / beginning master's degree in computer science
- Good to excellent programming skills in Python
- Prior knowledge of XML, XML Attacks, and XML Signatures
- Prior knowledge of Docker and automated testing
- Independent, careful working style and reliability
- Excellent English or German language skills for communication, English for the paper (if it comes to that)

- Scope of employment: 1 year, 8–12 hours per week (per agreement)
