Abstract:
3D printer web interfaces are a widely accepted method to manage 3D printers. Despite developers of these web interfaces advocating against the usage outside of local networks, there were reports of 3D printers on the internet in the past. In this thesis we conduct an internet wide scan for the most popular web interfaces and analyze the results. We show, that there are many instances accessible over the internet and the developers choice of default settings has a great influence on the security of these instances. We also show, that TLS is not widely used.
