Abstract:
Conferencing systems have become an indispensable communication tool for companies and institutions. We analyzed the open-source conferencing systems Jitsi Meet, eduMEET, Briefing, and mirotalk P2P with regards to their utilization of the WebRTC technology. Our analysis shows for each system, how they facilitate session negotiations, exchange media streams, and secure data exchanges. Moreover, we present the current security and privacy implications that arise with the use of WebRTC, and what impact they have on the analyzed systems.
