The paper "Session Resumption Protocols and Efficient Forward Security for TLS 1.3 0-RTT" by Nimrod Aviram (Tel Aviv University), Kai Gellert and Tibor Jager (both Paderborn University, IT Security Group) was accepted to Eurocrypt 2019. This year's edition of one of the most prestigious IACR conferences will take place in Darmstadt in May.
Tibor Jager received the award for innovation and quality in teaching at this year's Teaching Day. The University of Paderborn honors his project "Capture the Flag: Gamification of Learning in der Cyber Security" along with two more projects. All of them improve the quality of learning and teaching with innovative ideas.
Tibor Jager was invited to the program committee of the 26th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ACM CCS 2019). ACM CCS is the flagship security conference of the ACM and one of the premier computer security venues.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tibor Jager receives the "ERC starting grant" for his project "REWOCRYPT - Theoretically-Sound Real-World Cryptography". With about 1.5 million euros over five years the funding awarded by the European Research Council will allow for top-level research in the field of security analysis of modern cryptographic systems.
/upb/hack was ranked eighth in the Midnight Sun CTF. On April 14th and 15th, the team from Paderborn left hackers from prestigious german and international universities behind and qualified for the final in June 2018 in Stockholm.
Tibor Jager joins the program committee of the 25th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ACM CCS), which will be held in Toronto, Canada from October 15, 2018 to October 19, 2018. ACM CCS is one of the leading and most competitive international academic conferences on IT security.
The IT security group is offering a Project Group (PG) about Forward-Secure 0-RTT protocols, starting in Summer 2018. Such 0-RTT protocols are currently a hot topic in research and industry, many Internet global players are extremely interested in these techniques due to strong security properties at low latency costs. The PG will be presented on Monday, January 29th, at the PG event of our faculty. If you have further questions or are…
4th Conference on Security Standards Research
Tibor Jager joins the program committee of the 4th Conference on Security Standards Research, which will be held in Darmstadt in December 2018. The purpose of this conference is to discuss the many research problems deriving from studies of existing standards, the development of revisions to existing standards, and the exploration of completely new areas of standardisation.
Bloom Filter Encryption and Applications to Efficient Forward-Secret 0-RTT Key Exchange
The research paper "Bloom Filter Encryption and Applications to Efficient Forward-Secret 0-RTT Key Exchange" by David Derler (Graz University of Technology), Tibor Jager (Paderborn University, IT Security Group), Daniel Slamanig and Christoph Striecks (both AIT Austrian Institute of Technology), was accepted to the 37th Annual International Conference on the Theory and Applications of Cryptographic Techniques (EUROCRYPT 2018). EUROCRYPT is one of…
