Kühne und Prof. Dr. Christian Plessl ist es gelungen, als erste Gruppe weltweit die bedeutsame Rechenleistungsschranke von einem sogenannten Exaflop – das sind mehr als eine Trillion Gleitkommaberechnungen pro Sekunde – für eine Anwendung in den rechnergestützten Wissenschaften zu durchbrechen.
