New Dean's Office of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics elected

In its constituent meeting, the 12th Faculty Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics elected the new Dean's Office. From October 01, 2023, Professor Dr. Jürgen Klüners will hold the highest office in the Faculty as Dean, replacing Professor Dr. Peter Schreier. For Professor Klüners it is already by some distance the second term as dean. Klüners is a professor of computer algebra and number theory at the Paderborn University and already served as dean from 2013 to 2015.

Professor Dr.-Ing. Katrin Temmen was newly elected to the dean's office as Dean of Studies. Katrin Temmen has been a professor for technology didactics since 2010.

The Dean of Research, Professor Dr. Marco Platzner, was re-elected to the new deanship and will serve his second term in this position. A professor of computer engineering, he has been at the Institute of Computer Science since 2004 and was already part of the dean's office as associate dean for computer science from 2009 to 2011.

Newly elected were Professor Dr. Eric Bodden as Vice Dean for the Institute of Computer Science and Professor Dr. Tobias Weich as Vice Dean for Mathematics. Eric Bodden was appointed to the Institute of Computer Science as Professor of Secure Software Engineering in 2016. Tobias Weich joined the Institute of Mathematics in 2021 as Professor in Spectral Analysis.

Professor Jens Förstner, who has already served as associate dean for the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from 2019 to 2021, is an experienced member of the dean's office who will rejoin the faculty on October 01. Förstner has been Professor of Theoretical Electrical Engineering at the Paderborn  University since 2013.
