The Paderborn University achieved outstanding results in the field of mathematics and computer science, ranking 1st nationally and 21st worldwide in terms of the proportion of highly cited research publications for the period 2020 to 2023 in the “Traditional Edition” (https://traditional.leidenranking.com/ ) of the renowned CWTS Leiden Ranking.
The CWTS Leiden Ranking evaluates the research performance of universities exclusively on the basis of bibliometric data such as publications and citations. The rankings do not use reputation surveys and offer differentiated indicators such as impact, internationality, and open access. They are considered analytically precise tools for evaluating research quality and strategic university development.
