Awards for outstanding achievements at the University of Paderborn’s New Year's reception.

The awards for outstanding achievements, which took place on Sunday, 19th January, in the Audimax, traditionally form an important part of the New Year's reception at the University. Successful young academics were looking forward to awards in several different categories.

Prizes from the Executive Board of the University for exceptional dissertations were awarded to Dr. Dominik Gutt, Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Rieks, Dr. Johanna Sackel, Dr. Johannes Späth (Software Engineers at the Institute for Computer Science) and Dr. Carina Witte. Each prize was endowed with 2.000 euros.

For her outstanding final theses, in the Engineering and Natural Sciences category, Lasse Lennart Wolf (Spectral Analysis Department at the Institute of Mathematics) alongside Boluwatife Marie Akinro in the Humanities and Social Sciences and Economics category, both received awards from the University Society and a grant of 1,300 euros each.

Ange Gaelle Simo Noumbissi received the award for international students.

The DAAD award to international students from the University of Paderborn went to Kai Zhao.
