Video: Prof. Dr. Plessl and Prof. Dr. Kühne re­ceive a Re­search Prize 2018

During the New Year reception of the University of Paderborn on January 20th Prof. Dr. Christian Plessl, leader of the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing (PC2) and Prof. Dr. Thomas Kühne, professor in the area of Theoretica Chemistry, received the research prize 2018 for their interdisciplinary project for the concept Approximate Computing. The prize which is remunerated with  150.000 Euro supports both professors with their research project about efficiency enhancement by computer systems.

Prof. Dr. Johannes Blömer, who is the vice president for research and scientific junior staff, has handed over the certificate for the research prize 2018. The research prize of the university addresses scientists who develop projects with the help of visionary ideas, ventured hypothesis, creative technologies or innovative methods besides the maintream. Completely new projects which challenge acknowledge expertise are given special attention.
