Wiki Server

The IRB offers a wiki server. The current wiki software is FosWiki.

The wiki server is linked to the ZIM LDAP; you do not need to register separately.

You can therefore log in as normal with your ZIM access data or via Kerberos - provided you have activated the IT services for computer scientists in the ServicePortal. External co-operation partners must apply for a guest account at ZIM to gain access.

In the Wiki itself, you can link your account using your WikiName, which is made up of your first name and surname. A user named "Marie Irene Musterman" could therefore be linked with the text MarieIreneMusterman.

Groups in the wiki are linked to the ZIM groups. If you want to restrict access rights to your Wiki Web dynamically and manageably using group rights, we recommend creating a group; contact ZIM to do this.

Each group is assigned a WikiName made up of the alphanumeric parts of the group name in CamelCase, with the word "Group" appended. A group called webteam-cs would therefore be given the WikiName WebteamCsGroup.

Wikis on the Wiki Server can be easily requested by e-mail.

Please mention in your mail

  • the desired name of the wiki
  • at least one administrator for the wiki - normally yourself

You will be notified when your wiki has been institutionalised. This usually takes place on the same day.

Our wiki server supports the expansion of functionality using plugins. A list of currently installed plugins and instructions can be found on the wiki page, a selected list of possible plugins can be found here. Please contact us if you are interested in additional plugins.
