Mentoring programme
The transition from everyday school life to studying is an exciting but also challenging phase. New forms of learning, unfamiliar freedoms and the responsibility for your own academic success can be overwhelming, especially at the beginning. In order to provide you with optimal support from the first semester onwards and to offer you firm guidance, we have launched the mentoring programme for Bachelor's students.
This programme accompanies you throughout your studies and ensures that you never feel alone. You will be assigned to fixed groups of student assistants as mentors who will support you in group and individual meetings throughout the semester. At these meetings, they will not only explain important aspects of the degree programme, but also discuss your individual questions and concerns. This means you will always have a reliable contact person who will guide you through the challenges of your degree programme and help you to achieve your goals.
Are you studying under examination regulations v4?
Organisation
For easier organisation, you will be assigned to your mentor after the start of your studies. Even if your study progress may differ as the semesters go on, you will still remain in the same familiar groups and will not have to be reassigned each time. The subdivision into small groups is based on the small groups you already formed in the O phase. Don't worry: if you didn't take part in the O phase, you can of course still take part in the programme and will be assigned to a group.
At the beginning of the lecture period we will introduce you to the mentors in the first lectures. Ideally, they will accompany you for several semesters and are always available to answer your questions. They will also organise all individual and group appointments.
In the group appointments, you will get together in groups, learn what you should pay attention to in the news phase of the semester and can exchange ideas. In the individual appointments, you can talk to the mentors alone or in smaller groups, as you wish, and discuss individual concerns and problems.
Participation in the mentoring programme is voluntary. However, we believe that it can provide you with good support and help with the often difficult start to your studies!
