Promotion

The Institute of Computer Science offers graduates at diploma and master's level the opportunity to do a doctorate.

The various research specialisations of Paderborn Computer Science and its research institutes (C-LAB, s-lab, PC², Heinz Nixdorf Institute) offer a wide range of subject areas and points of contact. For example, staff positions are regularly called for proposals, in which the realisation of a doctorate is anchored.

In addition, Paderborn Informatics is involved in various funding programmes(Research Training Groups) for doctoral projects.

We attach great importance to qualified support for our young scientists; in addition to university didactics, we offer a mentoring programme especially for female doctoral candidates, for example.

When taking up a doctoral project, an application must be made to the Doctoral Committee for an examination of the admission requirements. The opening of a doctoral procedure is also requested from the Doctoral Committee. Forms with organisational information can be found on the website of the Doctoral Committee.
