"All Day Research" Podcast: Fourth episode with Dr. Felix Winkelnkemper online

In what is already the fourth episode of the "All Day Research" podcast, this time we welcome Dr. Felix Winkelnkemper. With our host Lukas Ostermann, he talks about sociotechnical systems in computer science.

"What actually is computer science?" - this question has accompanied Dr. Felix Winkelnkemper since his own studies at the University of Paderborn and has inspired him to get more involved with the different scientific fields of computer science. Away from the technical fields, for example, usage and perception capabilities of technical devices also require special attention.

Technical systems have long since arrived in our daily lives and already perform many important tasks. This makes it all the more important in computer science to also address software design and its use. This is exactly what Dr. Felix Winkelnkemper deals with in his research areas of User Interface Design and Ergonomics, which he describes in more detail in this podcast episode.

"Life has become more complicated today due to the 'Internet everywhere'," as Winkelnkemper calls it. With this, he wants to express that especially for people without a technical background, awareness of the special difficulties that can arise with technical systems are uncharted territory and therefore an examination of user interfaces is enormously important.

The realization of the podcast was developed in cooperation with the Institute for Computer Science and the Student Council for Computer Science. The aim is to give more insights into science and thus bring students - especially those in the first semester - closer to the study, to arouse interest and to show how much fun research and the study of computer science at the University of Paderborn can be.
