 |  EIM-NachrichtenCS-Nachrichten

In the 39th episode of the “All Day Research” podcast, we welcome Prof. Dr. Stefan Sauer, who talks to our host Marvin Beckmann about the Software Innovation Campus Paderborn (SICP).

Prof. Dr. Stefan Sauer studied computer science at the University of Oldenburg from 1990 to 1997, including a year abroad at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Immediately following his studies, Prof. Dr. Stefan Sauer began working as a research assistant at Paderborn University and in 2005 he became the founding managing director of the Software Quality Lab, the predecessor of the SICP.
“This is how the SICP came into being [...] as a construct, a research and innovation ecosystem in which business and science, but now also other social actors, cooperate closely to develop innovations [...].” Prof. Dr. Stefan Sauer describes the SICP himself.
The Software Innovation Campus Paderborn serves to connect science and business as closely as possible. Representatives from both sides work together on the same campus and are in constant contact with each other. In this way, explicit industry problems can be addressed more specifically in research. Students who are aiming for a career in the private sector have the opportunity to work closely with the respective companies at an early stage.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Sauer presents all the other advantages of the SICP and the content of his own research in the further interview with Marvin Beckmann.
