In the nineteenth episode of the "All Day Research" podcast, we welcome Dr. Harald Selke. Together with our host Lukas Ostermann, he reviews the past year 2022, gives first insights into the upcoming year and answers questions and suggestions from the students.
Dr. Harald Selke is a research assistant at the Department of Computer Science and is responsible for student advising. This is currently undergoing a small transformation and is to be converted into a study office over the course of the next year. "Our goal is to provide a permanent contact point for students who have problems and questions regarding their study organization. This also includes making us spatially more accessible on campus," says Harald Selke about the plans in the coming year.
What Harald Selke was particularly pleased about last year was that face-to-face classes could be fully resumed. "Nevertheless, one unfortunately still notices that, for example, the hustle and bustle on campus has decreased significantly and it will probably still take some time until we arrive again at a completely normal university everyday life," Harald Selke tells.
The podcast was created in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science and the Student Council for Computer Science. The aim is to give more insights into science and thus bring students - especially those in the first semester - closer to the study, to arouse interest and to show how much fun research and the study of computer science at Paderborn University can be.
