Since three days the Instagram channel of the student council of mathematics and computer science of the Paderborn University is online. The decision to start this new communication channel was made by the new student council, which wants to deal more with the topic of public relations and thus takes a first step. The student council, which is also responsible for the channel, wants to give its own students, as well as those interested in studying, a platform for an exchange. "We want to make the positive and also critical sides of our studies accessible to both students and prospective students via our Instagram channel," says Lukas Ostermann, chairman of the student council. "In particular, the focus is also on the desire to improve communication between students, staff and lecturers and to bring the different groups closer to each other's points of view," Ostermann continues.
The student council represents the special interests of the students of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. They keep an eye on studyability, provide assistance and advise students. In addition, the student council is active in ensuring that the social and cultural needs of students are not neglected. The Instagram presence can also support these concerns.
The Department of Computer Science is happy about the new possibility to inform more about the study and supports the intentions of the student council to communicate at eye level with the fellow students.
