On Thursday, February 6, Jun.-Prof. Plessl has given an invited keynote presentation on "High Performance Reconfigurable Computing" at the <link http: www.ecs.hs-osnabrueck.de digitale_systeme.html _blank external-link-new-window external link in new>Digital Systems Workshop, which was held at the University of Applied Science Osnabrück, Germany. The goal of this workshop was to promote the exchange of ideas between industry and academia and to provide a forum for discussing the use of reconfigurable logic. While most of the presentations were focussed on using FPGAs in embedded systems, Dr. Plessl's keynote focussed on the question, how FPGAs can be used to implement highly performant and energy-efficient custom computing machines for accelerating applications in science and engineering.
