Mandatory Mentor Program for the Bachelor Degree in Computer Science

Students of the Bachelor's Program in Computer Science are required to participate in the mentor program. For successful participation, the mentor awards one ECTS point according to the following procedure:

Students regularly take part in the meetings with their mentor. Starting in the second semester, they fill out a study planning form (previously examination regulations) at least once a year and use it to discuss the course of their studies. Students studying under the new examination regulations, which are valid from WS 17/18, please use the study planning sheet (examination regulations from WS 17/18).

When registering for the Bachelor thesis, the student should enclose a certificate from his or her mentor confirming successful participation in the mentoring programme. If the student has participated regularly or has proven his or her planned studies by submitting the planning sheets, he or she will receive the certificate immediately. Otherwise, the mentor will ask the student to explain the course of study. He or she will then decide which achievements the student must provide as an appropriate substitute for the unsuccessful participation in the mentor program by the completion of the Bachelor thesis at the latest.
